The Journey is the Goal

People are often caught up in their five year plans, trying to
improve their lives, planning for the shadowy future. Enjoy the
present. It can only be enjoyed now.

What about goals? Sure, have them. Build an empire. Raise awesome
kids. Just remember to enjoy each step of the way. The goal is not
to have a big happy family. The goal is to enjoy the process of
creating one. If all you want is for your kids to grow up happy and
successful, adopt happy and successful adults!

Sometimes passion for a goal dwindles. If you are losing interest,
the journey is complete. You have experienced all you needed. It’s
time to celebrate.

Embrace change. Don’t worry about finishing what you started,
endlessly marching to your death. You’re already finished. You’ve
come to realize your journey is now taking you elsewhere. You are
enlightened.

Pursue your next goal with fiery passion. And the one after that.
Keep going. That is living, surfing wave after wave of endless
