Tuesday – Friday
Monday I started getting sick. Got a sore throat as I was singing. Didn’t think much about it, but woke up Tuesday with a worse sore throat. After a few days’ worth of experimentation, I’ve come to the conclusion that, when dealing with a wet cough, eat spicy stuff like ginger shots to break up the phlegm and drink lots of water. Spit out any phlegm no matter how little there is, and follow with water to moisten your throat. Doing yoga seems to make my body eject mucus easier, probably a combination of inverting my body and heavy breathing.
Anyway I’m sure that’s all very lovely to read.
So I haven’t gone out much, trying to nurse myself back to health. I have done yoga every day, meditated every day, ate greens every day except Tuesday. Played the bass every day.
My handstands are getting pretty good. I’m now holding myself up a foot away from the wall, able to balance myself for about a second, tipping myself over trying to create that balance. I’m also becoming stronger, able to do handstands a few times an hour.
Using GoodReader on the iPad, I am highlighting parts of How to Win Friends and Influence People, following one of the nine suggestions on how to get the most out of the book. One of the success stories from using the book: I wanted an account on a free service and signed up for one. A few days passed by but there was no response. Instead of writing an email to the admins asking when they would approve it, I wrote one complimenting their service and said I couldn’t wait to play with their system. My account was approved within hours.
My bass teacher told me I need to play more to develop callouses on my fingers, and that I play too soft, I’m too much of a pussy. So today I started playing unplugged, forcing myself to pluck harder so I could hear the notes. Sure enough, my fingers are sore. It does feel good to play harder, though.
I watched Resident Evil: Afterlife. Meh. Alice had definitely gotten too powerful in the later movies, so wiping out her clones and disabling her T Virus was necessary. But the way they did it was way too convenient. Plus even without her powers she managed to do some inhuman things, like kicking a pane of glass perfectly into a dog. Anyway, it’s not real so whatever.
I watched The Secret. Pretty good movie, I think they could have presented it in a more engaging way, but I agree with its message.
I’m a pretty positive guy, but I think with Brad as an example and after watching The Secret, I can use some work becoming even more positive. Focus more on the good qualities of people rather than what I wish they wouldn’t do. Also I’d like to test out the law of attraction and see if I can make some random goals appear.
