Iron Gym

Instead of going for the 100 push-ups, I’ve decided to switch programs to the Armstrong Pull-up Program, using my new Iron Gym. This is because the Armstrong program involves doing three sets of maximum number push-ups in the morning, so it’s a combination of both regimens. In the future I may do the 100 push-ups program in the morning instead of the maximum push-ups.

Today is Day 3, which means I need to do nine training sets. Training sets are basically the maximum number of pull-ups I can do, divided by nine. Since I can do about… three, I should be doing a third of a pull up. Ugh. I rounded up to one. I wound up doing six training sets. I feel really weak and pathetic at this point, but I will continue the program and see how well I strengthen.

I feel fat and weak.

In other news, I’ve ordered ab straps for my Iron Gym, so I can do the “gut busting ab exercises” advertised on television. I’ve never liked doing crunches, and sit-ups hurt my back (probably because of bad form). In lieu of doing a thousand crunches on the floor, I’ll try to do a few hanging crunches and see how I develop.
