Work

Three Things I’ve Learned At Work:

  1. When my mentor is not doing anything and his computer doesn’t seem to be doing anything, do not ask him, “What are you waiting for?”
  2. Do not point out little things like, “You missed this red spot.”
  3. Do not do all of the above.

Teh suck.

Spoiled

I was having lunch with one of my co-workers yesterday. I ate an $8 twenty-piece Chicken McNuggets meal, while he humbly ate a bowl of ramen.

<Insert dramatic analogies and explanations of rich versus poor here.>

I felt like such a spoiled brat.

Mankind has not improved from its early days

March 12, 1997, A.D.

What, really, has mankind done to improve itself? Plenty. Atomic bombs have been invented. To kill their own species. Medicines have been invented. To kill their own species. To sacrifice probably more animals instead of humans. People have gathered into cities to work. While it causes pollution. Which kills off life on earth. For money spent on food, clothes, toys, drugs, and gambling. Mankind has always been selfish (Entry #1), and always tries to get what they want, if that means killing off others, their friends, their parents, their loved ones. Sure, they try to save the earth, stop crime, but why? They’re afraid they’re bringing their own doomsday upon themselves.

What’s our ancestors have better than us? They had small villages, and all knew each other. They never mugged each other. Defense was the only reason for violence.

Once power was tasted for the first time, we wanted more. People like Hitler tried to take over the world. After defeating Germany, the US threatened the rest of the world with its power—the Atomic Bomb. “…power is what I have … death is what I bring…” Now we have bigger and bigger wars, killing more and more people with each new “improvement”.

Annexation—Think about this: our ancestors could probably survive without knowing the third planet from the sun, or that a tree is alive. They needed to be able to hunt for themselves (or their village), or do whatever they happened to do. In our society, today, a beggar depends entirely on those willing to give. If you didn’t spend a large portion of your life studying, you will not survive. In the old days, you had to slay a deer to survive. Now, you have to do a day’s worth of manual labor to be able to buy food, and it doesn’t even compare to the amount one gets from a deer.
